Daphne o’dora aureo-marginata (Pink)
Price: $29.99

Very fragrant, winter-blooming evergreen. Creamy yellow border around each leaf. Flowers are deep pink in bud opening to creamy white clusters of bloom in February and March. Prefers well-drained soil and protection from the winter wind. This protection can be provided by a fence, a structure or another evergreen shrub/tree. Shade is best in the south. Plant near a path or entrance, if possible, to fully enjoy the delightful fragrance. Now, for the downside of this wonderful plant, it has an average lifespan of 5-8 years! But, as the late Dr. J. C. Raulston once said, “Daphne o’dora will live and be glorious for 5 to 8 years and then it will die. You will never figure out why so quit grieving and plant another one.”
