Saxifraga stolonifera (Strawberry Geranium/Strawberry Begonia)
Price: $9.99

The only thing about this plant that resembles a strawberry is the way it spreads. Sorry, no fruit. However, it does have great value as a ground cover for the shade garden. Silver mottled leaves that are 2 to 3 inches wide form a clump 4 to 5 inches high. Evergreen in North Carolina, it gives us the added bonus of many white, airy flowers on 12 inch stems in late spring. Does best in moist, well drained soil but quite effective with medium moisture. Great terrarium plant.
